My Approach
Individualized-Centered Outreach and Engagement
Programs like Home Base exemplify innovative strategies by employing a Veteran Outreach Team composed of veterans who serve as the initial contact point. This peer-based approach fosters trust and reduces stigma associated with seeking mental health treatment, leveraging shared military experiences to improve engagement and access to care.
Use of Telehealth
Expanding service accessibility through telehealth, particularly since the COVID-19 pandemic, enables veterans in diverse locations to receive care conveniently, mitigating traditional barriers such as transportation and stigma.
Happy faces lead happy lives…

LETS CONNECT
Integrated and Flexible Treatment Models
Addressing comorbidities such as substance use disorders alongside PTSD and other mental health conditions, programs like the Skills-Based Outpatient Addiction Recovery (SOAR) offer harm reduction approaches without mandating abstinence. This flexibility helps meet veterans and affected persons where they are in their recovery journey.
Family Inclusive Multidisciplinary Care
Recognizing that veterans’ and any person's mental health is closely linked to their family dynamics, the inclusion of family programming is a key feature. Services encompass individual and group therapy for family members, couples therapy, parenting interventions, and case management, creating a supportive environment around the veteran.
Peer Support and Community-Based Initiatives
Veteran-led peer support groups, with individual engagement of veterans in environments of shared experience, offer recovery support through connection and mutual understanding. These community-based approaches foster resilience and reduce isolation.
